Walk unencumbered with just a light day pack while your luggage is transported to the next hotel. Relax with balmy spring nights, warm but not too hot days and the spring blossom of trees and flowers. As we don’t stroll far from the river, the terrain is fairly flat with the exception of Mt Coot-tha (optional). Even people who live in the city will be amazed at what they miss seeing from a car or even a bicycle as we follow a four-day 72 km pedestrian route in a circle, never far from Maiwar, the Brisbane River. What is the best way to experience all this subtropical beauty? On foot and slowly - it is certainly one of the most walkable cities in the world. The meandering river, over 2100 parks and gardens, flowering trees that grace the city most of the year and a climate that gives us over 2800 hours of sunshine per year – these enviable features have resulted in the city being included in recent lists of the top twenty most liveable cities worldwide.
